CLINICAL TRIALS AND RESEARCH

newResearchBanner

As part of our effort to provide state of the art medical care, our vascular surgeons have led and participated in a variety of clinical trials for the past 20 years. To date, we have participated in nearly 40 studies.

Our research includes catheter-based, minimally invasive methods of addressing carotid disease, aortic aneurysms and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Most recently, we participated in CREST 1 and CREST 2 trials, NIH-sponsored carotid disease studies comparing carotid endarterectomy with carotid stents. Further, we have been involved in 20 trials studying endograft repair of aortic aneurysms in the chest, abdomen and pelvis. Dr. Graham Long is the medical director of the Surgical Clinical Trials Office at William Beaumont Hospital, which coordinates all of these projects.

To learn more about our research, ask any of our vascular surgeons about ongoing trials that may fit your vascular care needs. We will describe them to you fully, and the decision to participate in them will be entirely yours.
